How Digital Dudz Work

Every Digital Dudz animated T-shirt and interactive costume runs on the same trick. The design has an opening where the eye, the wound, or the fireplace sits, and a pocket sits behind that opening. Open the matching GIF on your phone, set it playing full screen, slide the phone into the pocket, and the screen fills the gap in the design, so it looks as if it is moving.

Each design has its own animation on the Digital Dudz GIF page: a moving eyeball, a cyborg, a crackling fire, and a beating heart. Download the one that matches your top before you head out, so you are not hunting for a signal at the party.

Our Digital Dudz Range

Our one festive design, the Men's Digital Dudz Ugly Crackling Fireplace Christmas Sweater, is a red cotton and polyester knit with a brick fireplace and green garland on the front and a phone pouch built into the design for phones up to 15 cm x 7.2 cm x 0.8 cm, in sizes Small to XXXL.

For a sci-fi look, our Men's Digital Dudz Cyborg T-Shirt prints a half-human, half-machine face with a red robotic eye on black, and the design comes alive once the matching GIF plays behind it, in adult sizes M to XXL.

On the horror side, the Men's Digital Dudz Frantically Moving Eyeball T-Shirt prints a grimacing face with its eye pinned open by safety pins, and that eye darts about while your phone plays the GIF, in soft, stretchy polyester sized M to XXL.

For a gruesome reveal, the Digital Dudz Iwound Zipper Accessory is a one-size bib with an unzipped wound on the chest, where the moving wound animation shows through the zip, and it sits over whatever you are wearing.

Getting the Animation Right

The effect depends on the phone as much as the top. Turn the screen brightness up, switch off auto-lock so the screen stays on, and start the GIF before the phone goes in. A bright screen shows best in a dim room or after dark, and it drains the battery faster than normal use, so start the evening with a full charge.

The T-shirts are sized by chest, and the bib is one size.

No. The Digital Dudz app is no longer available on the App Store or Google Play, and you do not need it: every animation is a free GIF on our Digital Dudz GIF page.
