We stock fancy dress costumes for men, women and kids: decade throwbacks, funny getups, character costumes and full-body suits. Most of our costumes are tested across 30+ measurements and made from 125GSM+ breathable fabric. That is the unglamorous half of the job, and it is the half that decides whether you are still in the costume at the end of the party.

Decade costumes: start with the era, not the character

Men's, women's and kids' fancy dress

Men's fancy dress runs from stag-do classics to full-body suits. Women's fancy dress covers decade throwbacks through to character costumes. Kids' fancy dress is sized and finished for school days, family parties and Halloween alike. The themes carry across all three, so a family or a group can go as one idea rather than three.

One that works for the whole family: our Inflatable T-Rex Dinosaur Costume has outsold every other costume in our fancy dress range over the past month. It comes with a built-in fan, gloves and a battery pack (four AA batteries, not included) and runs over four hours on a full set, made to fit most adults.

Sized by age rather than height, our Kids Black Cat Costume is a plush black jumpsuit with an attached tail and cat ear headband, running from 3-4 years up to 12-14 years with elastic cuffs to allow for different arm and leg lengths.

Fancy dress by occasion: stag dos, hen dos, Halloween

Some nights come with a theme attached. Our stag do and hen do costumes are built for a big group photo and a night that runs long. Our Halloween costumes range goes from funny to full-on scary, with the same work behind both ends of it. And if the crowd is more wrestling than witches, there is a WWE wrestling costumes range as well.

One of our top costumes over the past month, our Mens Bret Hart Costume comes as a complete set: vest suit, wig, arm cuffs and sunglasses, in 100% polyester. It runs Standard (41-44in) to Plus (44-48in).

For a group that wants one costume between two, our Bearded Bavarian Piggyback Costume creates the illusion of being carried by a bearded Bavarian local. It fits most adults from 5'4" to 6'4" and packs down with a stuffed pair of mock legs, no assembly beyond that.

How to choose: four questions, then the fun part

• What is the event, theme or occasion? A stag do, a school World Book Day and a Halloween house party each point to a different shelf, and our occasions pages are organised by exactly that.
• Is it indoor or outdoor, and what is the weather doing? An outdoor night in October wants something warmer and sturdier than an office party costume.

Most of our costumes are sized like normal clothing, small through to XX-large, with a size chart on every product page to check against your own measurements. The exception is the Morphsuit, our original full-body design, which is sized by height rather than chest or waist, since it is a single all-in-one piece rather than separate garments. If your child is between two sizes, go up rather than down: a little extra room is more comfortable for a night of running around than a costume that is too snug.
